You know how there are times when the presence of one person at a restaurant can give you the assurance that your meal is going to be great no matter what? Well, Jeson Kurian has that ability. And that is why when we met him at Bologna, his new restaurant, we were so sure about it being a fabulous experience. Start with Antipasti such as the 'Caprese di Bocconcini' – the fresh Bocconcini comes skewered with tomato, Italian Basil and with a generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Another great option here is the 'Porchetta di Parma con Aioli'. This comes with mayo and garlic and is lovely. And the 'Carpaccio di Manzo' – delicately sliced raw tenderloin with a freshly pounded basil pesto and parmesan shavings will have you wanting it multiple times over. The 'Cream of Broccoli Soup' is a soul-warming and as is the mixed seafood soup. Among the Pasta, we opted to have the 'Gnocchi di Patate with the Cream of Mushroom Sauce'. This was eaten up soon enough and the complimentary bread basket helped in mopping up all that lovely sauce. The herbed butter on the side helped as well. Among the specials is the 'Cannelloni' and this with the 'Beef Ragout', with some 'Red Wine' on the side is clearly what the doctor asked for on a relaxed weekend. I tried the 'Tagliata di Manzo' – sliced tenderloin with grilled vegetables, mash and a red wine jus. And yes, they got the medium done really well. You could try the 'Classic Tiramisu' for dessert or the 'Peanut Butter Mousse in Chocolate Sauce' is decadent.
