ITC is superstitious about allowing the Bukhara name to be used for any restaurant other than the Delhi original. That is why this place is called Royal Afghan. But for all practical purposes, it is Bukhara with pretty much the same menu and Chefs who trained at the world’s most famous kabab restaurant. The primary concession to Bengaluru’s environs has been a willingness to allow more outdoor seating on the grounds, as the city has such pleasant weather that guests should be allowed to eat al fresco. This is both a plus and minus. It is nice to be able to enjoy Bengaluru’s weather. But, on the other hand, the outdoor seating makes the restaurant seem a little like a poolside coffee shop and takes away the sense of occasion that should accompany eating these famous kababs.
