Many of us have plans to retire to Goa and live the sossegado life. Till we are able to do that, restaurants like Fisherman’s Wharf will give us the respite we may need. A complete family place in dense Sarjapur, the top selling points for me is the massive play area for children and the expansive parking space. The Margarita Bar placed in the centre of the restaurant does not hurt one bit too. Start off with the 'Wharf Special Seafood Soup', you will need to check on what the speciality for the day is. If something stylish is what you are looking for, then the 'Wharf Shrimp Cocktail' is something to try. Vegetarians have a lot on offer in the starters segment – 'Chilli Potatoes', 'Mushroom Pinwheels', 'Cheese Sambusek', 'Potato Cafrael' and 'Rechado' and much more. Getting down to business, the seafood offerings at Fisherman’s Wharf, the 'Rawa Fried Prawns' are a good bet, as are the masala fried calamari. The 'Chorizo Pao' is an eternal favourite for me. While the Poee used to be brought in from Goa, am not too sure it is now. The 'Kingfish Rechado', the 'Fish Ambotik' and either the 'Prawn or Fish Curry' preparations will take you back to the shores of Goa. And also, the 'Chicken in Xacuti', 'Vindaloo' and even the 'Sorpotel' (I prefer the pork version) are all classic dishes. The fish here is usually brought to the table and it would be best for you to check on the price before placing an order.

About The Fisherman's Wharf, Sarjapur Road, South Bengaluru

One of the key pleasures of South Indian gastronomy is their fabulous coastal food, succulent morsels of seafood swimming in gravy or roasted to perfection. The biggest pull about coastal cuisine is the immense variety of seafood on offer. From clams to lobster to fish to crab, a foodie can lose himself in the pleasures of dining on what sea has to offer. Bengaluru gets an amazing sea produce every day and uses the fresh produce in its food in most delicious manner but sometime it gets a backseat when displayed with other meat items. At ‘The Fisherman’s Wharf’ it’s all about the seafood. One gets to feast on a most marvellous spread of sea fare cooked in every possible way. Its located at Sarjapur Road in Southern Bengaluru.
