The ambience of this Indian cuisine specialty restaurant is minimalistic, overlooking a serene poolside. The North Indian menu here starts out with toothsome kababs, including the inimitable, rich galouti kababs, tandoori gulabi machali (salmon) and delicate murg kesari kabab. Order a basket of varied Indian breads next (the missi roti is delish), or the more unusual chilli olive naan to accompany succulent gravies. The singhada mutter curry marries the sweet crunch of green peas and water chestnuts into a yummy gravy, while the dal makhani is a resolutely creamy affair. The anjeer ke kofte are interesting, with reduced milk and cottage cheese dumplings stuffed with figs and spices in a delectable sauce. For non-vegetarians, the nehari gosht flavours lamb shanks with a light touch of fennel, while the brown onion pulao goes well with the Punjabi murgh makkhan masala – traditional butter chicken in a sea of tomato cream. Finish with a royal khubani ka meetha (stewed sweetened apricots), or soft gulab jamuns with a gulkand (rose petal) marmalade.
