Hoppipola, draped in white, yellow and blue, derives its name from an Icelandic word meaning ‘jumping in puddles’. The quirky playfulness of its name permeates to the décor as well as vibes of the place. Hoppipola has a corner devoted to books and board games. Once the natural light fades away, Hoppipola morphs into a typical watering hole with dim lighting and loud music. The cocktail selection at Hoppipola would not win any awards, but is adequate. Most drinks are quite heady but do a decent job at masking the harshness of the liquor. The food here is quite decent. I was impressed with how pronounced the flavour of Truffle was in the 'Truffle Oil Fries'. The dishes have quite obviously been tweaked to satiate Hyderabad’s love affair with red chilly. Whether it was the 'Fries' or the 'Southern Spiced Prawns' or the 'Dhaba Murghi Fry' – everything was delicious but also quite fiercely hot. The vegetarian selection is also interesting and well executed featuring creations such as 'Mexy Mama Roll' and 'Paneer Bhurji Pao Bhaji'.
