Perched on rocky cliffs overlooking the sea, one can sit on cushioned cane chairs, sip on 'Greek Ouzo' and sample the cultural flavour of Greece right here in Goa at Thalassa (Greek word for ‘The Sea’). Mariketty, with her larger than life personality, creates a homely atmosphere found in most Greek houses – this open-air taverna features ornaments designed by her. A charismatic place, where one could spend an entire day with family and friends. With a quintessential white theme, terrazzo flooring and rustic wooden shelters the simplicity enchants one the minute they enter. Try the 'Tzatziki' dip and the 'Tiro Kaf Teri' – a spicy feta cheese dip with Pita bread. For the pescatarian, the 'Steamed Mussels In Ouzo Sauce' is a must-try. The famous Greek meat preparation makes way from Corfu, Mariketty’s hometown in the form of 'Mousaka' in beef or lamb. The desserts are as exciting as the mains. From homemade Greek yoghurt to rich cheesecakes, everything served here is delectable. Do try the 'Cream Berry' or 'Blueberry' yoghurt smoothies.
