Enjoy Your Favourite Street Food In A Modern Makeover

Looking for an adventurous gastronomic experience of street food? Here are the best places in Delhi to satisfy your street food craving. Be prepared for a bit of surprise as you feast on the ‘contemporary take’ of street food gourmet:

Nukkad Cafe & Bar, SDA

As the name suggests, Nukkad offers you all that you used to binge at nukkads of your house in your childhood days. The only difference is those items come with a little twist. So you have Samosa with a stuffing of Matar keema.

Pakoda comes with cheese stuffing as ‘Cheese Cheddar Pakoda’. There are innovations like Butter chicken Croquettes as well. Chicken Tikka Chaat is a must for chicken lovers.

Prankster, Gurgaon

Have your favourite Pav Bhaji with a twist called ‘Pav Bhaji Zinker’ served like a Patty with Bhaji. Nitro cooked Dahi Bhalla Chaat stands out: it’s a scoop of dahi-chaat flavoured ice cream on top of a mound of crunchy sev and papri, served with liquid nitrogen poured at your table.

Instead of Gol Gappe, you have ‘Flat Gappe’ (baked flat gappa with sphere of sweet & tangy water). My favourite is ‘Sambhar Cappuccino with Dosa Crisp’ (a light sambhar presented in the form of a soup with foam and Cappuccino temperature, served along with dehydrated dosa papad. Sharma Ji Ke Hot Dog and College Van Chowmein are perfect items to enhance your dining experience.

Molecule Air Bar, Gurgaon

Want to see some smoke coming out of your mouth and nose? Try ‘Dragon Smoke Popcorn’ - an interesting style of popcorns presented with three choices of flavours tossed in liquid nitrogen.

Here gol gappas come as ‘Molecular Puchka Shots’, where you get five different colours and flavours of water in a test tube with two syringes full of Imly chutney and mint chutney with homemade puchkas presented with smokey hues. ‘Dahi Vada 2050’ is with sweet curd in foam texture and vada is stuffed with jalapeño, served with gaari and pepper relish. ‘Edible Bhel’ is a total surprise item served in an edible plastic sheet which will give you a flavour of bhel but it’s actually not the one. Vada Pav is ‘Vada Bao’ here with bao rather than a normal bun.

There is ‘Veg Biryani Arancini’ - a fusion of Indian and Italian cuisine. This dish is served with eggplant salan creme along with pink peppercorn, raita sphere.

Rasmalai too meets molecular gastronomy. It is made in front of the guest with liquid nitrogen.

Ministry Of Beer, Gurgaon & Cp

From ‘Papdi Chaat’ in wasabi flavour to ‘Khachapuri’ - Ukranian street food, expect the unexpected here. Wasabi complements very well with yoghurt saffron pannacotta which cuts off the sharp wasabi flavour. Enjoy ‘MOB Bun Tikki’ - the tooty frooty bun stuffed with potato roesti and served with choley. ‘Khachapuri’ is a classic cheese pie which has egg yolk in the centre.

Local, Connaught Place

Here is the right zing for your palate with dishes like ‘Makhan Vali Pav Bhaji’ and ‘Bahadur Thela Style Chowmein’. ‘Local Style Idli’ is the hot seller with mini idlis tossed in vegetables and South Indian spices.

Indulge in ‘Masala Bread Omelette’ with tawa bread which will surely take you down the memory lane.

Gupta Ji ka Aloo Tikki Burger’ and ‘Paneer Vala Burger’- mashed potato orange colour tikki between buttered buns is flavourful and comforting.

So here is your chance to step into these restaurants and treat yourselves to some unique flavours of street food delicacies.
