A cosy, dim lit, simple place with Chinese lanterns, artistic elements and cane furniture accentuating the décor. The menu is really elaborate featuring Oriental, Pan Asian, Continental as well as Indian cuisine. However, it is advisable to go for Pan Asian as that is the restaurant’s USP. Start with the best sellers – 'Golden Fried Prawns', 'Paw Pia Tod', 'Silk Route Cumin Lamb' and 'Lan Zhou Chilli Basa Fish'. 'Oriental Greens' and 'Ma Po Tofu' are popular veg items. 'Chicken or Prawn Gaeng Khiao Wan Gai' is Thai Green or Red curry which is a signature dish here. For a light meal, dim sums are absolutely delightful as they come in various fillings. Here 'Shrimp and Chicken Har Gow' are the stars of the platter. Noodles and rice are offered in different flavours, each one loaded with fresh texture. If you are in a mood to have Biryani, you have the option from 'Lakhnawi', 'Hyderabadi' or 'Kashmiri Style' preparation. Sandwiches, kinds of pasta and pizzas are not disappointing either though nothing special about them. Round off with 'Honey Crisp Noodle' with 'Vanilla' or 'Darsan'. Overall, The Silk Route promises a memorable dining experience in a non-fussy ambience marked with warm service.

It was last week when a friend of mine started craving Chinese food while she was visiting me in the city. A thorough search for best Chinese restaurants in the city began and we went through several menus in hope for that one place that would not only give us amazing Asian food but also would be inexpensive. After reading many great reviews we finally decided to check out ‘The Silk Route’, a gorgeous eatery where dining is like transporting oneself to the ancient Chinese province. It’s a great place to explore with a fellow foodie or even take your family to for a scrumptious lavish feast of Asia. The restaurant is situated on the ground floor of Building 2 in Local Shopping Centre, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. Next time your loved ones crave for Chinese food, take them here.
