One of the oldest hotels in Panchkula, Hotel Pallavi houses Lamhe, their fine-dining restaurant. It has over the years refurbished the seating and changed the ambience but the team here has been loyal to its menu. And that goes in its favour. The restaurant offers ample seating and the menu walks a familiar path with Indian main course and Chinese cuisine. Undoubtedly, the 2 cuisines are very popular in the region. The interiors are elegant and mostly in cream tones. Red occasionally pops up in the decor and that’s a good thing. The place is generally busy during weekends where you will find large groups and family get-togethers. The menu caters to such tastes, focussing a lot on Mughlai cuisine and an equally robust Chinese section. Meats have been given as much prominence as vegetarian fare. The ‘Lagan Murg’ is quite a speciality here and lives up to its reputation. We also tried the special ‘Kadhai Paneer’ and ‘Veg Jalfrezi’ that were quite similar in flavour to dishes available elsewhere but well done nevertheless. The service was prompt and the servers are well aware of the popular dishes on the menu, so do not shy from asking recommendations. The bread basket arrived promptly with hot naans off the tandoor. The meals were indulgent with oil and we, therefore, skipped dessert. The pricing is good and so are the portions.
