The Holiday Inn in Panchkula is located on the Kalka-Shimla highway, next to Panchkula Golf Course and close to the Tau Devi Lal Stadium. The hotel’s multi-cuisine restaurant is Cafe G and is located right next to the hotel’s impressive lobby. The interiors are muted in tones of brown and copper. Unlike other restaurants in Panchkula, Cafe G boasts of huge space and has an open feel to it, especially the ceiling to floor windows that bring in the light. The seating is comfortable and boasts of many covers. The restaurant dishes out buffet service through the day and is quite a popular option. If you are looking to order a la carte, there is plenty of choices here too. The ‘Caesar Salad’ pairs well with the ‘Basil Tomato Soup’. The north Indian dishes take a sizeable portion of the menu. Choose from the likes of ‘Murgh Tikka Makhani’, ‘Malai Broccoli’, ‘Rajma-Chawal’ and the likes. The menu is predictable and most of the dishes were greasy, much to our disliking. The service definitely needs to improve. Skip the ‘Laal Maas’ if you are watching your calorie and oil intake. The pricing is steep and since the distance is a deterrent, the hotel needs to better its game to make it worthwhile for diners.
