About Delhi Highway, Chakala, Andheri East, Western Suburbs

Mumbaikers love their share of North Indian food and do not let the opportunity pass to sample some delectable curries once in a while. Not only North Indian expats but also natives adore to feast on an array of kebabs or plateful of biryani when they get a chance. It’s because of their fascination that the city has become home to several great curry houses, some the very best in the country. On your hunt for a fantastic curry house, drive down towards Andheri East, Sakinaka area where perched on Times Square is ‘Delhi Highway’. The restaurant has become quite sought after by the families and large groups. Meal times are their busiest, especially with the office goers who come in for a quick but fulfilling bite. There is also the facility of home delivery.

Like the name suggests, Delhi Highway keeps a lavish North Indian menu with a smattering of Mughlai dishes as well. Point to be noted: menu is purely vegetarian. You will see some classic North Indian dishes on the menu as well as some innovative spin offs that attracts the attention of young gourmets. Opt for their thalis to enjoy a more luxurious fare. Variety is pretty good. Dive into the menu straightaway with a smorgasbord of appetizers. Tuck into, veg seekh kebab, paneer afghani, charcoal mushroom, naram dil kebab, cheese aloo tandoori, moong dal laddoo, Makai kebab, tandoori chipotle mushroom and lahori kebab. If you are part of a large group, choose their platters. They are much more economical and varied. In main course try their fusion food section. Mozzarella kulcha, whole wheat fulka tacos, kadai pasta and Indo Mexican quesadillas are worth checking out.

A range of classic North Indian curries also features on the menu. For a sugar rush nibble on a plethora of scrumptious desserts. There is, kesariya firni, kulfi, shahi tukda, jalebi rabdi, gulab ae jaam, anjeer ka halwa and shahi Sunday, to pick from. Staff serves dressed in traditional attire, which kind of adds to the traditional experience. In the heart of Mumbai, Delhi Highway has tried to capture the opulence of royals through their décor. Scalloped archways runs across the room, flanking formal dining tables into separate sections. Plush mud coloured wing sofas are dotted about the room. The ambience is relaxed, smart and elegant. Long tables are provided to seat large groups of diners comfortably. Delhi Highway is not expensive at all and fits the pockets very nicely.
