Nachos, laksas, momos and more – international fare that is completely vegetarian can be so interesting to discover

It is easy to find good all-vegetarian restaurants that specialize in Indian food. Most multi-cuisine places that are vegetarian do try their hand at international fare but do not really hit the mark. However, as always, there is the exception. In this case, there are 5 exceptions! Take a look at these 5 restaurants in Bangalore that are completely vegetarian, either with the complete international fare on the menu or with a sizable section dedicated to good global fare.

Burma Burma

This restaurant has been the talk of the town since it has opened its doors. A restaurant that does Burmese food, completely vegetarian and does not serve alcohol. Do not worry, you would not miss either the meat or the booze. The focus is solely on the food. Do make it a point to try the Tea Leaf Salad. And if you are unsure, then the Trio of Salads will be a good option. The Samosa Soup is a good bet as well.

Khao Suey

The Khao Suey is quite distinct in flavour as is the Bamboo Leaf Rice. And, do make sure to end on their Avocado Icecream and with a tea from their vast selection.

The Higher Taste

Situated on the premises of the ISKCON Temple, this was one of the first restaurants in Bangalore to focus on Sattvic food and that too with such panache. The chefs ensure that the food does not cross the 4-hour mark from being prepared in the kitchen to being finished and put on the table – buffet or a la carte. The selection is primarily Indian but it is in the techniques and the cooking that lies all the delicious difference. Try the Malai Wali Harigobi Ka Shorba, the Potato Milagu Fry, the Paneer Makhandaar and the Peas Pulao. And definitely, end on what is now their signature Paan Icecream and Elaneer Payasam.

Sattvam

Sattvam too goes down the Sattvic food path but with a difference – The food at Sattvam does not restrict itself as far as cuisines go.

Chocolate Risotto

A Makkai Galouti holds its own alongside Steamed Momos, a range of Dhoklas and a Cherry Tomato Basil Salad. Main courses bring in Indian and international dishes spanning popular cuisines, each dish created the way you know it but adapted to bring in the goodness of Sattvic principles. The outlet in JP Nagar offers tasting menus that you should try.

Little Italy

A restaurant that does Italian fare that is completely vegetarian. In all honesty, Italy has so much to offer when it comes to great vegetarian food and Little Italy does a lot to ensure that it comes to your table. Choose from a la carte or buffet options. Definitely, start with some of the wood-fired pizzas. They do some great pasta as well – think Lasagna, Aglio Olio and even a good Putanesca and Matriciana. They pay a lot of attention to their breads as well. And the Tiramisu is definitely one to try.

Green Theory

If you love to be surrounded by greenery, then you know that is what you will get in this cute little café.

Grilled Vegetable Pasta

A vegetarian menu that comprises international dishes you should try the Stuffed Mushroom Crunchy, the Pita Pockets with Falafel, Spinach Pasta. The pull-apart Garlic Bread Stuffed with Cheese is indulgent. You will also love the Brownie Shake if chocolate is your thing. The Babycorn Cigars and the Nachos are great options.
