Alchemy, The Chancery Pavilion, Bengaluru

Alchemy always has some good beer on taps, particularly their seasonal ones. Celebrity Chef Hari Nayak has created the menu here and this time there are quite a few interesting new dishes that he has brought on.



Start with the Duck Samosas, move on the Fish Tikka with Kaffir Lime and served with a Kasundhi dip.


For the mains, the Chicken Chettiar that is roasted in a Banana leaf, with stone flower sauce and turmeric string hoppers is excellent. The Coorgi Pork Belly, served on a carrot uttapam with a granny smith slaw is a lovely balance of flavours. And if you like coconut, do not miss out on trying the Nuts About Coconut. It comes with multiple textures and is coconutty all through.

The beverage menu has been created to complement the dishes being served and you can make a choice from drink such as the Zaffran Sour that has saffron syrup, the Jal-Jeera G&T, and the Paan Pasand which has a generous infusion of paan syrup in it.


Gulab Ki Thandi Kheer

End your meal with a Mithai Royale that has Shahi Tukda, Rajbhog and Makhan Phirni. You could also give the indulgent Makhan Phirni a try.

Yauatcha has always been a go-to place when it comes to quality dim sums. They have a fabulous new menu and there are a few on there that I would be willing to travel for. Try the Vegetables wrapped in Chinese Cabbage with Szechuan Sauce, transparent little parcel placed in a lovely, spicy sauce that hit the right notes.


The Chicken and Basil dumplings are an example in simple yet delicious. The Kale Dumpling is definitely one to travel for. It has been constructed so well and the flavours are absolutely lovely.


Another brilliant one is the Edamame and Truffle Dumpling – this one, a bottle of wine and you are sorted.


And, do not forget to wrap up with one of their classic desserts, the Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse.

For those with a sweet tooth, you have desserts such as Almond and Amaranth Cake, Chocolate Almond Brownie and Vegan Chocolate Truffle Cake and an Indian classic with an organic twist - the Carrot Halwa.
