The ambience breaks away from the clichéd interiors allied with Indian cuisine restaurants as it decodes Indian street food cuisine into a stylish, contemporary setting with warm service. The best way to start a meal here is with the crazy ice cocktails, I tried my fair share but settled on a firm favourite – the chilli aam masala. A delicious mix of vodka, mint leaves, mango, fresh lime juice, chaat masala, black salt and a green chilly crazy ice. Chakhna aka the perfect pre-nibble, priced at 125 to 225 designed to absorb the first drink and to dally with while deciding on an order includes the likes of chicken 65 and Maharashtrian sabudana wada with thetcha, quite like birdseed for the imbiber. The kathal dum masala is a super-spicy but a decadent dish. A cooler, healthier contrast is gobhi mussalum also cooked on slow, calm and enduring fires. Best of the main course I tried is the nalli boti ki nehari, a long-cooked stew served with the marrow bone and a basket of rotis, that torn up makes the perfect scoop to transport the meat into the mouth. Do not miss this one, which goes way yonder drink-accompanying food. Finishing up with the beetroot halwa with vanilla ice-cream is a good idea, it is soft and topped with a crunchy pistachio and is deliciously divine.
