Trudge up the two floors to this coffee house for the lift in Mohan Singh market is almost certain to be out of order. Walk in to the large, spacious hall that is almost bereft of furniture and pick up a chair after testing to see if it is still serviceable. Carry it out onto the terrace and settle down to wait to spy a waiter. Although there is a full complement of staff, service is painfully slow and regulars get better service than newbies. Documentary filmmakers, college students and dodgy businessmen have all made this place their own, along with the monkeys who are perfectly safe.
