With dainty fairy lights set against a faux-glasshouse, the outdoor section at Diggin Café is compulsively instagrammable. The indoors are warm, woody and convivial. Diggin’s menu keeps it uncomplicated with staple café fare and large portions. We started off with a plate of 'Fried Prawns' and 'Calamari'; thinly battered and fried till the shrimp was bouncy but the calamari had turned rubbery. 'Fettucini Al Funghi' was served creamy and al-dente but in need of some DIY seasoning to make up for feeble flavor. The 'Lamb Chops with Brandy Sauce', on the other hand, was smack with brandy that should have spent a little more time in the pan. The gamey meat and harsh pucker from alcohol was a double whammy and we resigned ourselves to the side of sliced boiled potatoes under a blanket of sour cream. Dessert was a sugary 'Apple Crumble Pie' whose charred morsels went well with the 'Vanilla Ice Cream'.
