INSIDER TIPS

  • The cocktails and extensive range of wine can be an interesting thing for people who enjoy drinking
  • The wide range of drinks and appetizers makes this one a good place to be around, and, of course, there is loud music
  • There is the 'Sharabi Puchka' that is the drunken version of the classical 'Calcutta Puchka', it is drenched with Tequila instead of the regular water

The place is quite nice and the overall ambience is inspired by yellow lights and some modern, eclectic furniture and seating. It has loud music on, almost all year round, so, technically it is a pub without a dancefloor though. The menu is fairly simple and straightforward and that may be great for most people who want to eat some nice grub. The appetizers are varied and there is massive variety for the same, you might even get confused as to which one’s better than the others. We tried the 'Kashmiri Thikana' that is your classic 'Mutton Seekh Kebab' served with mint chutney by the side. The drinks are extensive and there is ample of variety for everyone. Our attention was caught by the 'Cutting Chai' cocktail that is a mix of White Rum, lime cordial and some earl grey tea. Now, even though they say it is cutting chai, it is nowhere close to what you would expect. In fact, it is more of a UK inspired Tea cocktail there can be. A better high tea you think or perhaps the tea that gives you a high? Bring it on! The mains as well are fairly diverse and the focus is on sizzlers and North Indian grub. Even though that sounds safe and nice, many of the dishes are quite oily and greasy, something you would not expect. The 'Paneer Tikka Masala', for instance, is very oily, so much that half of the gravy is separated from the oil and the paneer is floating away. The desserts are may not be an important element because they are more focused on alcohol sales and even food. So, you would just get 'Sizzling Brownie with some Vanilla Ice cream' and that is the only one available more often than not.
