The cool and youthful décor with clean lines speak to the hipster heart, in all its chrome, wood and piping glory, and quotable quotes across the walls. The menu does the same – there is a quirky section of blank pages in each booklet for gourmands to write or illustrate their own sandwich ideas. Not that they need to, because the joint pretty much has it covered, right from its breakfast pizzas (a bulls-eye amid toast and other toppings) to its stacked-with-flavour burgers. There is a doughwich (donut sandwich) with grilled goat’s cheese and orange marmalade, and a grilled shrimp hot dog with lettuce, salsa and sriracha; or, try the silence of the lambs’ sandwich with mutton mince, feta, smoked bell peppers and a fried egg, or the #area 69 burger packed with ground beef tenderloin, cheese, caramelised onions, steak sauce, and lemon aioli. The bugsy pizza dedicates itself to cheddar, blue cheese, bocconcini and mozzarella, while the oh fig salad packs in fresh figs, roasted beet, bell peppers, feta and khakra. Also, do not miss their unbeatable chilli potato torpedos (Bhavnagari chillies drowned in cheese and taters), or the strong Madras coffee shake in a huge glass jar. A super place for a languid interlude.
