A veteran among the bakeries of Pune, Cake N Counter has been relentlessly rolling out delectable sweetmeats for over three decades. A diminutive establishment with mosaic tiles and quaint wooden furniture, the entire set-up is endearingly homely and steeped in old world charm. Before the advent of cake shop chains, this used to be the go-to place to source a cake for a special occasion. Also the original chocolate haven of the city, the moist, fluffy, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate walnut cake is the piece de resistance here – an absolute must-try. Also dig into their sponge cakes with a variety of icing flavours, the pineapple chiffon and black forest pastry.
