The Mumbai outpost of this Indian chain of British pubs, with its plush décor in wood and bric-a-brac, exudes an old-world charm juxtaposed with luxury. The dazzling two-way facing bar is attractive and well-stocked to say the least. There are two distinct seating areas with ample space. The menu offers global food, with dishes handpicked by Chef Ajay Chopra. From kaffir lime paneer tikka and Cantonese Soya Lamb to roast garlic chicken tikka and shepherd’s pie, you can expect everything here. There is a special focus on regional favourites from across India too. The Chicken Ghee Roast and Kosha Mangsho are worth a try. The bar section of the menu is exhaustive and offers signature cocktails like grapefruit vodka sour and chocolate margarita, cleverly crafted by the ace mixologists. The portions are generous, well presented and the flavours pleasing, yet the food lacks the wow factor. The service is slack although the staff is alert and helpful. Attention to detail is sorely missing.
