The first thing to draw your attention the moment you walk into this sprawling 220-seater coffee shop at Novotel Kolkata is a beautiful wall mural of myriad tiny butterflies at the far end, right above the restaurant’s interactive kitchen counter. The décor is cheerful with clusters of bright red chairs and wooden tables set against a predominantly white backdrop, comfy sofas by huge glass windows overlooking the hotel grounds and latticed metal screens that create cosy segments. The restaurant is open round-the-clock and serves a mix of European, Asian and Indian food. There are quite a few classic French numbers on the menu (after all, the hotel belongs to the French company Accor) – the salad niçoise and the croque monsieur are good picks. For dessert, simply go for the flourless chocolate cake served with blueberry coulis and nougatine crisps.
