The first fine dining Bengali restaurant in the country, it was a bold move by Peerless Inn to open this in 1993, when eating Bengali food out of home was not in practice. They surpassed people’s expectation, and till date they have managed to live up to their reputation for providing quality traditional Bengali food, both from the kitchens of East and West Bengal under one roof. The restaurant has had a revamp, however, they have stuck to the royal brass crockery, some terracotta pots, paintings on the wall depicting life in Bengal and many more small things which remind you of the culture of Bengal. The food is simply outstanding, right from 'Bheckti Paturi' to 'Chingri Bati Chorchori' to 'Postor Bora' or 'Shukto', anything that you try out there is par excellence. What stands out here is that they do not use tomatoes in any of the traditional cooking, which is how Bengali food is meant to be. Be prepared to burn a hole through your pocket since the food is extremely expensive. However, the quality and the quantity of the food surpass your expectation.
