Lovingly known as Dr Fish in culinary circles Atul Shah and Aparna Shah’s ode to Goan Saraswat cuisine is legendary as much as Atul’s love for fish. Safe to say, the establishment of the Mapusa Highway is thronged by patrons alike waiting to get a seat at the table. Try the 'Sungta Tonak' and 'Dry Fry', mouthwateringly delicious. But their speciality lies in the 'Banana Prawns Wrapped In Banana Leaf'. Leave space for the mains, as portion quantities are ample. Kurli ‘Rock Crabs’ in their Pernem Xacuti masala and their famous 'Crab Bhurji' is advisable with a beverage from the well-stocked bar. The 'Tisryo Clams Sukhe' is a pescetarian delight with home-made secrets handed down to Aparna. The seasonal fish has some rarities which have to be asked to your server. It is quite an enriching experience to understand a class on fish from the ‘Dotor’ himself. For the non-fish lover, try the 'Liver Sukhe' cooked in a signature coconut masala and the 'Vade Chicken Sukha' - a combination of sukha chicken and rice flour bread making it quite the tapas selection with drinks. Sign off with the 'Serradura' for dessert.
