Another tourist belt that has a new addition is the Dona Paula Jetty road. Vanna & Marco of Oltremarino fame has recently opened a quaint little café/bistro- Pomodoro, thus bringing the goodness of Italian cuisine to the people of the city. A quick guide would allow you to savor the freshness of the 'Mixed Salad' with a serving of their 'Mushroom Soup' - rich, creamy and soothing. The 'Beef Carpaccio' served with wafer-thin parmesan cheese and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil with a seasonal salad will get things going. Thought, we would advise you to keep space for a marathon of food with the thin crust pizza offerings in tow. The 'Pizza Ortolana' with zucchini, eggplant, capsicum loaded with stringy mozzarella is a herbivores delight. Overlooking the calm of the sea ahead ask for the 'Seafood Pizza' topped with prawns, calamari, olives, marinade blanketed with cheese. The pastas steal the show with the 'Tagliatelle Bolognese' - home-made pasta with minced beef and tomato sauce - sinful pleasure. For the added crunch, the 'Chicken Saltimbocca' is a signature with batter coated chicken strips wrapped in bacon. If by now you are struggling with the portions, ask for a parcel of the 'Salted Pork' - slowly cooked tenderized sliced pork in barbecue sauce with roasted potatoes. Sign off with the 'Molten Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream' or the 'Semi Freddo' for all you Italian aficionados.
