Amidst the palatial old houses in Margao, there is this 80-year old Portuguese home with most of its architecture still intact. Located on the first floor with its hint of grandeur, the restaurant is still doing well. They say the 'salt' of any interesting cuisine is its mixture, try this with some pepper. The place has been refurbished to suit modern tastes and specialises in Goan and Portuguese cuisines. Try the Garlic Chilli Tongue, the slow cooking process used brings all the flavours to the fore. The home styled Pork Chilli Fry is succulent and tempting, but for a taste of festive fare, try the Baked Stuffed Crab, Beef Roulade or the Sorpotel and Sannas. Do not leave without trying the traditional fare in the Chicken Cafreal and the Beef Steak. The desserts that are served in this season are the Serradura and the Lemon, Orange Vanilla. Sit on the balcony and see the beauty of timeless Goa unfurl before your eyes.
