Say Hello to Simona and Mario - the duo who have made this eating establishment a must visit on everyone’s gastronomic pilgrimage to this fair state. Walk into the red-tiled restaurant, and you will see Mario moving around wishing his guests, pouring the complimentary after dinner homemade digestive - if in stock, as he chats with you about the meal. There is a personal touch to everything done here. Start off with the 'Fritti Alla Romona' - delicate rice tomato balls stuffed with melted cheese, 2 cheese potato balls and fried vegetables. Stick to the basics with the 'Frittura di Pesce'. Served on a wooden platter, the Fried Calamari and prawns with the crispy juliennes of vegetables tossed with rosemary and sage. The 'Gnocchi al Gorgonzola' and the 'Mozzarelline Fritters' do pack a punch and are perfect for the herbivores around. Ask for the dessert of the day - 'The Panna Cotta' is great and the 'Crème Brule' will leave you asking for more. All in all, a perfect place to relax and unwind with great company. One is sure to go back for more. Do note - they remain closed on Mondays.
