These Breakfast Places Take Care Of Monster Appetites And Power You Through The Day.

It’s true that breakfasts are as many as cultures across the world. While a traditional full English breakfast would have you tank up on eggs, bacon, fried bread or toast, black pudding, hash browns and more, the American breakfast is no less, featuring plates piled high with pancakes with maple syrup, a cornucopia of cereals and grapefruit juice, among other things. Even if you haven’t been an early bird and have wandered in breakfast wasteland so far, help is at hand. Restaurants are offering a dazzling range of breakfasts so that you don’t succumb to monotony while devouring the first meal of the day.

SodaBottleOpenerWala

Timing: 9 AM to 12 PM

SodaBottleOpenerWala, a take on the Bombay Irani Café and bar has launched a new, all-week breakfast, as part of its Khan Market menu from August 27 onwards. What’s more, the breakfast service has an out-of-the box offering called the king size breakfast, which is a beer and breakfast deal. If you avail this, be ready to dig into a platter of Bun Maska, Pancakes, Poro (Parsi flat omelettes) and Dessert with unlimited fresh beer. But you can also go ala carte with a panoply of breakfast favourites such as Bun Jam, Ragi Flour and Oats Pancakes, which come with toppings like mixed berries, cream and mint as well as caramelised banana and butterscotch. To add an Irani flavour to your first meal of the day, there’s Navsari style French toast and a wide selection of poro, including herby, smoky, meaty and obviously, vegetarian.

The All American Diner

Timing: 7 AM till 12 PM

Delhiites have been swearing by The All American Diner for their breakfast fix much before the capital’s breakfast scene picked up and a raft of new breakfast hotspots popped up across the city. The buzzing diner, stationed next to the lawns of India Habitat Centre, has a medley of breads on offer, including muffin, toast, bagel, butter croissant, Danish, cinnamon roll and donut. For the fit brigade, there’s something called healthy start in a glass, featuring fruit-blended yoghurt and a freshly-baked muffin. Like a true-blue diner, the restaurant serves a dish called Pancake Combo, a plate of two pancakes, a fried egg, two chicken or pork sausages/ bacon/ American Corn. The big highlight here is the three-egg Omelettes, which come in a mind-boggling variety, like Bogart (folded omelette with chicken ham, cheese, onions, tomatoes and green peppers, served with a side of tomato salsa) and The Ultimate (mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, chicken or pork sausage, chicken ham, topped with cheese).

1911

Timing: 6 AM till 10 AM

In case you want to put your feet up in style, head to 1911 Restaurant, which has put out a decadent spread of breakfast goodies, including baked delicacies, juices, probiotic milk, detox water, fruit smoothies, soaked grains and nuts. Sharing space on the breakfast buffet are Cinnamon Yoghurt, Sticky Buns, Omelettes as well as a choice of Indian breakfast staples like Idli and Dosa, accompanied with piping hot sambar.

The health freak is spoilt for choice here with healthy seeds, gluten-free and vegan baked goodies, sprouts, tofu and home-made preserves. What’s more, the menu is cyclical and hence, changes daily with a focus on hot items.

Depot48

After a hugely-successful trial run of breakfasts, Depot48 is all set to launch its elaborate breakfast menu this winter with mind-boggling options for the early bird. There’s Depot48 Fry Up featuring bacon, sausages, two grilled tomatoes, chili beans, mushrooms, and choice of egg on toasted bread. The roots and shoots brigade is not ignored at Depot48. They can go for the vegetarian delight Panini (creamed spinach, feta, fresh basil, with vine-ripe tomatoes) or dig into the Veggie Stacker (smashed avocado, feta, vine ripe fresh and sundried tomatoes, with rocket salad and olive oil on a bed of toasted ciabatta). Waffle lovers can rejoice as toppings include everything from chocolate Gianduja with caramelised nuts to wild berry compote and mascarpone).

Café Tesu

Timing: 8 AM -12 PM

The new kid on the breakfast block is Café Tesu, that’s recently opened its doors at Essex Farms on Aurobindo Marg. Named after the flame- coloured-bloom Tesu, the cafe has on offer a breakfast deal, featuring freshly-cut seasonal fruits with made-to-order eggs. Beverage addicts can lean towards options like juice, an infused tea or a Tesu-brewed coffee, as part of the offer.
