A whole host of cuisines are being showcased in these food festivals in Hyderabad

March brings in the onset of spring in Hyderabad, and restaurants are celebrating the best season of the year. Quite a few food festivals are being organized during this month luring food lovers with international cuisines such as the Mediterranean, Mexican, and Genovese as well as a celebrating of Indian regional food from Rajasthan. Of course, a biryani festival is always a hit in Hyderabad. Here is a look at the top food promotions in Hyderabad during March:

The Souk Experience at Encounters, Taj Krishna, Banjara Hills


The Souk Experience promotion is curated by Mater Chef Simon Shakour from Souk, the Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurant at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. A-la-carte dishes from these countries such as Dijaj Mqualli, Talas Kebabi, Lamb Tagine and Lebanese Pizza are on offer apart from hold and cold mezze platters and desserts like Baklava and Omali.

The Great Indian Food Trip at The Square, Novotel Hyderabad Airport

The Great Indian Food Trip at The Square celebrates asli dhaba ka khana. The highway inspired buffet includes the various cuisines along the important National Highways. Sarson ka Saag with Makki Roti, Panasa Pattu Biryani, Kothu Paratha and Zaffrani Murgh are some of the dishes one can look forward to at the festival.

Maharashtrian Food Festival at Aish, The Park Hyderabad

The food promotion delves deep into the cuisines of various regions of Maharashtra. A thali consisting of many delicacies from the state will be offered with dishes like Usal, Misal Pav, Sol Kadi, Bharli Vangi, and Tambda Rassa. Desserts will include items like Shrikhand, Modak and Puran Poli.

Taste of Genovese at Prego, The Westin, Hyderabad

Prego, the Italian restaurant at Westin is known for the quality of their promotions that often showcase the cuisine of a particular region of Italy. This March, the restaurant will host Chef Antonello from Prego Mumbai, who will explore the traditional Italian cuisine from Genoa. Home to the green pesto sauce, the region has many dishes rich in ingredients and flavor such as Frittele Di Baccala (fish fritters), and Branzino in Crosta Di Saale (salt-crusted sea bass).

Magnificent Mexican Meals at Chill and Terrace, Radisson Blu Plaza


Chill and Terrace, the all-day dining restaurant at Radisson Banjara Hills is presenting a festival of selected Mexican dishes. On for both lunch and dinner, the a-la-carte delicacies include Panuchos De Pollo (crispy tortillas with guacamole), Quesadilla De Verduras and Churros (fried pastry coated with cinnamon and sugar).

Jashn-e-Biryani at Ohri’s

Hyderabad loves its Biryani, and Ohri’s restaurants are bringing together a month-long festival celebrating the signature Hyderabadi dish. The a-la-carte promotion is on at selected Ohri’s restaurants offering 6 different versions of Biryani. Sufiyani Gilafi Biryani, Gosht Ki Seekh Biryani and Samundari Jhinga Biryani are the biryani dishes available for non-vegetarians, while the vegetarians can savour Kathal Ki Biryani, Hara Chana Aloo Ki Biryani, and Moong Pakodi Aur Singhada Ki Biryani.

Kitchens of India Rajasthani Festival at Deccan Pavilion, ITC Kakatiya

The Rajasthani festival at ITC Kakatiya is part of the Unique Tastes initiative under the Kitchens of India series. The festival focusses on the cuisines of Marwar and the Shekhawati regions of the state. Chef Anvir Singh from ITC Rajputana, Jaipur presents a bouquet of signature delicacies from Rajasthan such as Ker Sangri, Lal Maas, Dal Baati Churma and Gatte Ki Sabzi.

Venue: Deccan Pavilion, ITC Kakatiya, Begumpet
