For a long time sweets have been the same each year but this is the age of innovation and in every area, we see so much of experimentation and innovation so naturally in the area of food too there has to be innovation whether it is the making, the ingredients or the presentation. Gujarati women are extremely enterprising so they will not let any opportunity go untapped. Many food entrepreneurs in Ahmedabad are offering different kinds of sweets with uncommon ingredients like the use of rose petals, Paan flavoured bonbons, wafer cookies, etc in sweets. Bella Shah has been making sweets, chocolates and confectionary for over a decade. Over the years, Ms Shah who started sweet making rather late in life but now she is fully committed to it and employs a large staff to make her sweets, chocolates and confectionaries. This year, she has come up with some new sweets which include Walnut Marzipan with Orange, Dry Fruits with Orange, Dry Fruits with Honey, Dates and Nuts with Wafer Cookies and many more such sweets. She operates from Haveli Bungalows in Drive-in area.

Theokaphe 

This restaurant is located in Bodakdev area, behind The Grand Bhagwati Hotel. Run by Urja Patel and her husband Mihir, they have made thousands of kilos of sweets for this Diwali season which are being sold like hot cakes with corporate orders and people buying sweets from the restaurant. Their specialities include Date Pistachio, Cashew Rose and Kesar Badam Pista sweets.

Saugaat is the baby of Swati Rangwani, a young woman who started all on her own to become a chocolatier three years ago and now she is well established in her business.

Ms Rangwani has also embraced the whole range of sweets from chocolates to traditional Indian sweets for this festival time. Located in Satellite area, this year Saugaat’s specialities include Rose Mithai Truffles, Orange Pistachio Truffles, Paan Bonbons and Coconut Barfi Truffles

Shweta’s Chocolat

This chocolaterie is owned and operated by Shweta Raval who has in a span of just a few years built up a huge clientele for her eggless cakes and chocolates. She is known for her designer cakes and makes amazing designer cakes. She made a 75 kg Cake recently for the former chief minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel. Her specialities this Diwali are Rajasthani Kalakand, Kesar Barfi, Chocolate Barfi and Mohanthal

Owned and operated by Raina Nasra, Bake-a-licious comes out with delicious and innovative chocolates which are much appreciated by her clients. This Diwali she is offering sweets in very nice packaging. Her specialities are Diwali Cracker Chocolates, Whole Wheat Almond and Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Tarts with Almond, Cashews and Cranberry
