It is raining and the weather is beautiful with moisture in the air, greenery everywhere and cloudy skies. It is time for romance, time for fun, time to get drenched in the rain and then time to get warm with some hot coffee, hot chocolate, pakoras, soups, kebabs and tikkas.

Unlike in some other countries, in India, we love the rains. For us, it is time to celebrate as rains mean life, good crops and general prosperity. So, we all enjoy celebrating the monsoon months. Restaurants too have joined in this to help us enjoy this lovely weather with good food which is not just tasty but warm and nourishing.

List of five restaurants having monsoon specials in Ahmedabad this month

Garden Cafe, The Fern, Ahmedabad

This is a 24-hour cafe at The Fern Hotel. It is located on SG Highway and it is on the ground floor with both indoor and outdoor seating. This place serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian multi-cuisine food. For this monsoon, The Garden Café is having a Himachali Food Festival to add that something extra to this rainy season. Try dishes like Kale Channa Ka Khatta, Chha Meat, Palak Ki Roti, etc in the festival.

Essence, Crowne Plaza, Ahmedabad

This is the full day restaurant at Hotel Crowne Plaza. It is open from 6:30 am to 11 pm in the night. It serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian multi-cuisine food. For this monsoon, Essence is having a vegetarian food festival - Swad-e-Hindustan. Here you will get Tofu in Black Pepper Sauce, Chilly Hosin Fried Rice, Ratatouille and many other dishes this monsoon.

Capsicum, Whistling Meadows

The restaurant is part of Whistling Meadows Resort on SG Highway, opposite Nirma University. It is a vegetarian restaurant which is currently having a monsoon festival called Monsoon Mania. Here you can get Barasti Bhajiyas, Methi Bhajiyas, Steamed Momos and Mexican Tikkis as starters. Try their Fried Thupka Soup and other dishes in the main course. End with warm Sukhdi. This place is open from 7 am to 11 pm.

Punjabiyat by Jassi De Paranthe, Thaltej, West Ahmedabad

This is a restaurant serving Punjabi and North Indian food as the name suggests. It is a vegetarian restaurant located off Sindhu Bhavan Road. It is open for lunch and dinner. Here you can get Makkai Ka Shorba, Makkai Ka Halwa, Pakoda, etc here during monsoon months.

Price for 2: Rs 1100

@Mango, Bodakdev, West Ahmedabad

This is a vegetarian restaurant located on Sindhu Bhavan Road. It is open for lunch and dinner and this is a very popular restaurant where it is better to book a table, otherwise, you will have to wait for your turn. Here they have a monsoon special menu which includes Dragon Noodles Sichaun, Fritters, Pakora and Poppers Platter, Krabi Monsoon Satay and much more.
