Make Daddy Dearest Feel Special With Drool-Worthy Meals

Yes, there is a day when you can show your appreciation for your old man. For years you have Tom Sawyered him into doing several chores (read picking up your credit card tabs, driving you to college and doing the year-end tax returns) for you. So, this Father’s Day you can put an end to your guilt trip by pampering him silly at his favourite restaurant. In fact, dining outfits across the city are adding gourmet flourishes to their Father’s Day offerings to entice their loyal patrons. So, go along and net some dining treasures and make daddy dearest feel cool too.

Olive Bar & Kitchen, Mehrauli, New Delhi – Do not expect the restaurant to hold back when Father’s Day comes calling. Super Dad, Super Brunch! The Father's Day Brunch at Olive Qutub is scheduled between 12 noon and 4 pm. Expect an extravagant buffet spread, with lots of bells and whistles and consistent good cheer. There are multiple counters that promise all kinds of gourmet pleasures. While the egg station will serve up anything from Sunny Side Up eggs with chimichurri to Bacon Omelette with Hollandaise, there are counters named vegetarian and non-vegetarian antipasti, fromagerie, Salumeria, boulangerie with condiments, blintz and gravlax, Turkish mezze and many more.

Sorrento, Shangri-La’s - Eros Hotel, New Delhi – For the waistline-watching dad, there is plenty on offer on Father’s Day. Sorrento is offering the Au Naturel menu, from June 1 till June 30, which ensures that healthful eating does not need to be boring. The menu, which has wellbeing and fitness as its cornerstones, trains the spotlight on Italian cuisine but without its high-calorie trimmings. Curated by Executive Chef Neeraj Tyagi, who is trained under Michelin Star Chef Florent Boivin at the Culinary Institute Paul Bocuse in Lyon, the menu’s flavours are amplified not with copious quantities of butter and cream but through an intelligent processing of the ingredients themselves. For instance, the Potato Ravioli has the ravioli shell crafted from thinly sliced potato that is cooked sous vide to get an al dente texture. Similarly, the six- grain risotto has different kinds of grains that are allowed to release their starch in order to impart a creamy texture. The main courses carry forward the healthy theme too. The Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass is nudged to new heights of succulence with a side of quinoa pilaf that has a high nutrient content.

Guppy, Lodhi Colony, New Delhi – For a Japanese-themed Father’s Day, head to Guppy since it has planned Pop In, Pop! A special Sunday table brunch serving their all-new summer specials. There is tenderloin tataki, where quick-seared Tenderloin Slices are served with Garlic Chips and Truffle Ponzu. The Sushi section features the Mango and Tuna roll where the mango acts as the perfect foil to the fatty tuna. The Japanese restaurant also does desserts with flair. A must-try here is the Nashi Pear Flan where crisp pear is placed atop layers of puff pastry that’s stuffed with pastry cream and served with berry compote.

KiyanThe Roseate, New Delhi – If you are planning a grand feast with a side of drama, Kiyan has a picturesque, zen-like setting, punctuated with dramatic columns and a tranquil water body. A special three-course set menu with a wide selection of mocktails is on offer, as well as a complimentary Father’s Day cake. However, the cake offer is applicable on a table of minimum four diners. Options abound in all the three courses, though patrons can only select a single dish from individual sections. Choices in the soup/appetizer section include Tom Yum Goong ( Tom Yum Goong), Crispy Shitake with Five Spice Powder, Murg Kandhari Tikka and many more. For the main course, you cannot go wrong with Sous Vide cooked Murg Kandhari Tikka, Chicken Nasi Goring and homemade chilli dip, among multiple options. End your Father’s Day meal on a sweet note with your pick from the dessert list featuring Paan Kulfi, Mango Tiramisu and Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream.

The Clock Tower, Golf Course Road, Gurgaon – Modelled on a neighbourhood pub, The Clock Tower in Gurgaon is where global musicians and diners congregate for a good time. Though its forte lies in forward-thinking craft brewing techniques, adventurous mixology and cuisine, The Clock Tower is laying out the red carpet for father's on their special day. The fixed ala carte brunch menu comes with selections of meat and main courses as well as unlimited beer. What’s more, it features dishes like Papas special Chicken Salt and Pepper, Daddy's Chilli Chicken, Papas BBQ meatball, Abbu Chilli Paneer, Baba’s Galauti Kebab and more.

In addition, there are Father’s Day special cocktails like Pop you rock and Daddy cool.
