Who hasn’t had a sandwich, whether is the simple jam and butter sandwich to the gourmet variety, it is the most known fast food globally. While most of us can make a sandwich in a jiffy but we all want to indulge ourselves with tasty, lovingly prepared sandwiches which lots of stuffings and sauces. Ahmedabad city is not different than any other in India. Almost all cafes and fast food places serve sandwiches but where do you get that gourmet sandwich that would take your breath away.

SandwichworkZ - The Fusion Street Cafe

As the name suggests, Sandwichworkz located on IIM Road has all kinds of sandwiches from the regular vegetarian and non-vegetarian sandwiches to grilled sandwiches, to toasted bread sandwiches and even dessert sandwiches. Enjoy the sheer variety in this small but very yuppie place.

Price for two: Rs 500

Indulgence

This popular bakery, dessert place and café which is run by two sisters serves one of the best sandwiches in town. Indulgence is located on Drive-in Road in Vastrapur. They have a daily menu and one can be pleasantly surprised with their sandwiches each day. They also have awesome cakes, pastries and pies.

Cost for two: Rs 550

Huber and Holly

This café, dessert and ice-cream parlour is located on S G Highway where most of the eateries are coming up. It serves innovative vegetarian sandwiches and they are yummy. This is a Havmor Ice-cream group initiative which recently sold off its successful ice-cream part of the business while retaining all its eateries. Pricey place, but good sandwiches, if you like vegetarian food only.

Cafe Upper Crust

One of the first bakeries to make it big as a restaurant chains in Ahmedabad, Upper Crust Café is classy and elegant. The oldest Upper Crust Café is located on Vijay Char Rastra. It has many outlets and all of them serve great sandwiches. You can have tasty club sandwiches, open sandwiches and grilled sandwiches in Upper Crust.

Silver Leaf Bistro

This bistro is part of the Cama Group of Hotels. It is located on Acropolis Mall on S G Highway. A large place, the bistro also has a dessert parlour. You can have Falafel sandwich with Pita Bread or Gourmet Ham and Cheese Sandwich. Whatever takes your fancy, the sandwiches here are worth it.
