Craft beer, gourmet food, chocolates, pastries and world cuisine, all make The Quad a place you really want to spend time at

If you think airports are just about flights and conveyer belt styled bland food, think again. Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru has just introduced The Quad with over 20 F&B and retail outlets. Heading to the airport to wait for a flight or to welcome a loved one back no longer needs to be about endless paper cups of coffee. There is now just so much more than you can do.

The Quad is placed between the taxi/ bus stands and the arrival/departures terminal and is not something that you can miss.

Beginning at the Kerb (in front of Arrivals), The Quad has 4 zones to keep customers engaged – Retail, F&B, Flea Market and the Arena. Operational round the clock, shopping enthusiasts can now explore a wide range of brands. Foodies are in for a surprise with an array of F&B outlets, offering a variety of gastronomic experiences. These eateries are known for curating dishes that are hyper-local, gourmet and crafted to artistic perfection.

Barley & Grapes Café

Spend time at Barley & Grapes Café and explore their menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. From the Jet Lag Breakfast, to the Panini Sandwiches, Grilled Pawns with butter, garlic and lemon, salads, quiches and more. Pizzas, burgers and some really nice desserts complete the package here. Wine and beer are available.

Windmill Craftworks

Try some craft beer by Windmill Craftworks, where Geist is also being poured. On one of my visits, I tried the Windmills Mango Ale and the Geist Märzen as well.

We paired that with some Margherita Pizza served by the slice, as well as the Braised Lamb Pizza – these are substantial slices.

The menu is limited here, but has all that you would want to have on such an outing at the airport. Beer here is served only from 10.30 AM to 11.30 PM

Café Azzure

Frozen Bottle is around for some of these thick shakes. Café Azzure whips up decent sandwiches and the like. You can pick up some wraps and kebabs at the House of Kebabs. For an oriental experience, you have The Wok Shop. There is also the Burrito Boys, Doner & Gyros, and Great Foods of India that are all open to guests.

Smoor

Haagen-Dazs

The Wine Vault by Living Liquidz and Gourmet Food are recent additions to The Quad Dessert and coffee lovers can head to Haagen-Dazs, Smoor and Café Coffee Day.

The Quad by BLR is adorned with the spectacular green cover and is home to distinct plants that reflect Bengaluru’s image as a Garden City.

BREA

BREA, a brand that is known to provide bread and freshly baked products to the consumers for over 100 years now is now available at The Quad.

Chocolate Mousse

The brand retails its authentic Bangalore Cookies in 8 flavours such as the butter, the green chilli curry leaves, classic Khara, ginger jaggery, butter salted, cashew almond in the regional range.

One can also enjoy BREA Roti, fresh out of the oven. One could also savour the classic combos like Savoury Muffin & Coffee, Cheese Croissant & Coffee, Sandwiches, Bagels, Palmers, Danish, Cinnamon Rolls, Brioche and Pastries here.

This is open round the clock and is located on the Curbside. This is an area that also has Punjab Bistro, Hatti Kaapi, California Burrito, Maiyas and more.

The great thing about The Quad is that you can visit the airport simply to hang out here as well. AC buses from various parts of the city bring you here at a decent price and it makes for a great day out. Of course, if you want to up the game some, you can also head over to Taj Bangalore, a short walk from the Airport and The Quad and try out Tamarind – their Indian restaurant – their flavoured waters, lassi thick enough for a spoon to sit in and seasonal pickles are just some of the highlights here. Soi & Sake give you a fine dining Chinese and Japanese experience and if you want to lovely café to spend some time in, Café 77 East is definitely where you want to be.
