A slice of cake be it chocolate or a plain vanilla sponge is like a warm enveloping hug. Cakes make everyone happy but true happiness lies in a moist creamy Cheesecake. In the last couple of years we've had a cheesecake revolution in Mumbai and with time restaurants, bakeries and cafes have started taking their cheesecake very seriously. You'll find one on almost every dessert menu but for the best of the best, you need to pop by one of these restaurants in Mumbai.

 
Bastian - Not only does Bastian love cheesecake but they have an entire menu dedicated to the type of cheesecake you'd like. You can pick from regular classic NY Style Cheesecake, gluten-free smores Cheesecake, Oreo Cheesecake, Crème Brule and quite frankly you can ask them to create new ones they will happily oblige. You can order a single slice and share which is generous enough but if you're in the mood for complete and total gluttony then go the whole nine yards and order an entire cake.


The Clearing House - At one time the Clearing House served the most decadent Lemon Cheesecake that would make your heart sing. Unfortunately, the flavours have changed though if you ask for it in advance they will get you the lemon cake. There is always a cheesecake on the menu and currently, it boasts of a Passion Fruit Crème Brule Cheesecake with Mango Gel and Blackberry Compote and it's just as good as it's lime counterpart.


Pizza Express -  You know the cheesecake must be outstanding when it's one of the most popular dishes in a pizzeria. Fans devour their pizza but ensure they've got a room for dessert. They serve their signature baked vanilla cheesecake which comes with your choice of cream, gelato or mascarpone and it is a soft velvety dream. This is the standard cheesecake but during different seasons they get creative. Don't miss the Mango cheesecake in the summer or the current new addition - the chocolate cheesecake!


The Good Wife - This restaurant is popular in BKC attracting diners regularly for both lunch and dinner and with a tempting dessert menu, The Good Wife makes it to our cheesecake list. While this cheesecake is deconstructed do not underestimate its brilliance. It's a dulce de luche with Nutella which has to be the ultimate indulgent combination. It's made with cashew butter crackers and a citrus coconut sauce that's the chef's special secret.

Indigo Delicatessen is one of those places that you can pop by and you are guaranteed a good meal but also a comforting dessert.  The Deli serves their own cheesecake which changes frequently depending on the day but with multiple outlets across the city, no matter where you are and if you're craving a baked cheesecake then this is where you should come.
