Best Places In Delhi NCR For Thin Crust Pizza

It might have originated in Italy, but for the urban Indian, pizza is as good a staple as is the humble roti. But it is not the crusts from Pizza Hut and the Domino's that does it for us, it is the thin crust pizzas which has our heart.

And what is not to like – crispy crust topped with tangy tomatoes and stringy cheese – it is as if the Italians are speaking to us through food. With a host of toppings that you can choose from, you just need to pick your favourite one when you walk into these 5 places in Delhi NCR that serve the best thin crust pizza there is.

Leo’s –  Highly recommended by the expat community, especially the Italians, Leo’s in Ghitorni serves Napoli-style pizzas which are just incredible. Try their Prosciutto di Parma e Rucola – or the Parma ham with fresh rucola leaves if you like meats, otherwise their Margherita or plain cheese is superb too. The added plus? It is a pet-friendly pizzeria.

Dirty Apron –  Perhaps Delhi’s best-kept secret, Dirty Apron in Safdarjung Enclave makes some of the best pizzas in town. Straight out of the wood-fired oven, we recommend the Blue Cheese Caramelised Onion and Potato Pizza and their The Oinker any day. The smoky-flavour from the crust is an added plus in every bite.

Amici Café –  They have been around for a little under a decade, but their pizzas are still as incredible as they were then. The Chicken Has Landed – one of their signature pizzas is also their top selling dish. Their Spinach and Goat Cheese which is served with red wine onions and a hint of nutmeg is like eating a molten hot spinach dip with a crisp crust. The best part is you can eat these pizzas any place between Defence Colony to Khan Market to Cyber Hub.

Indigo Delicatessen Spanish Ham Paired with Charred Pineapple and Bacon Jam is just a delight in every bite. As is their Sun-dried Tomato Olives and Caper pizzas. These wafer-thin pizzas are unfortunately only available in Cyber Hub in Gurgaon. They also have the option of going half-and-half which means you can have twice the goodness in one pizza.

Tonino – Right at the start of MG Road, Tonino has been around for as long as I can remember. Perhaps the first place in Delhi to have actually built their wood-fired oven from scratch, Tonino also serves one of the best thin crusts pizza there is. Between their Provenzale (Tomato, Mushroom, Olives and Tri Peppers) and their Salame Picante (Salami and Onion), you know you are going to end up with cheese in every bite. Plus, they now do a multigrain pizza base which is just as good as the regular ones.
