Good food, good drinks and a great ambience and your partner by your side. Try these 7 places to seal the deal

You don’t really need Valentine’s Day to plan a romantic evening out. Any day of the week is good. And what’s even better, is that there are some restaurants in the city that ensure you have just the ambience and mood to set things right. Here are some all-time romantic restaurants that you can head. A call in advance at any of these places can also help you set up something customized as well – a candlelit table, a particular dish and more.

Olive Beach, Richmond Road, Central Bengaluru

There is a magic about walking past its door and into a classy world of good food and wine. A never-fail place in Bangalore when it comes to showing a loved one a good time. In the evenings, the ambience sets the perfect romantic mood. The food – The Seafood Veloute, The Caramelized Pear and Blue Cheese Salad, the Moroccan Lamb Tagine and ending on the Tres Leches – all come together to make the perfect meal to share with your partner.

Head there in the evenings and you have dim lighting, the sound of water passing you by, and lovely food to keep you and your partner happy. Le Cirque Signature, The Leela Palace, Bengaluru

White and Green Asparagus, with Basil oil and Brie Cheese Fritters

The old world charm of the Leela Palace is hard to beat and the Le Cirque Signature takes things to a whole new level. Perhaps book the entire private dining area for you and your partner to make things extra special. Dive into their collection of wines to pair with your meal. It will definitely be a night to remember. Some of the dishes you could consider ordering are the Textures of Peruvian Jumbo Asparagus, The Le Cirque Lobster Salad, The Parsnip and Truffle soup. Share a Black Truffle Risotto or even the 9 Hour Slow Braised Pork Belly. At the end, do not forget to order Crème Brulee – seeing the decadent recipe pop up on your dessert dish when you finish the last spoon is quite a treat.

Mikusu, Conrad Bengaluru

Sushi platter

Mikusu at the Conrad Bengaluru provides you with the perfect place for a romantic evening. The ambience, with the low, dimly lit chandeliers sets the perfect base for a lovely evening. Perhaps a table right next to the large windows, or a cozy nook overlooking the open kitchen. The Edamame with Truffle oil is definitely a brilliant way to begin. The Salmon Carpaccio with Yuzu soy and hot oil would be a next. And definitely a platter of some well-made sushi. The Aona Gomma Ae - Spinach is a tangy sesame sauce is great dish. And do consider sharing the Five Spiced Chocolate Mousse with Orange Sorbet.

Toast and Tonic, Richmond Road, Central Bengaluru

Mackerel on Toast

Udon and Chorizo

If good food is what binds you together, then you should spend some time at Toast and Tonic, because trust me, as far as food and drink are concerned, you would have nailed it just by making a booking here. Sure the tables are placed a little too close to each other, but that’s all the more reason to snuggle up closer. Start off with what else but the current talk of town – the Begum Victoria Cheese platter that Chef Manu Chandra has created from scratch. The range of G&Ts are great here, so you are sorted on that front. The Tuna Poke Bowl with Gobhindobhog rice, the Udon and Choriz, a personal favorite, as are the Mackerel on Toast and The Roasted Beet Salad. Do end on the Expressions of Jaggery.

Rocksalt, St. Marks Road, Central Bengaluru

Take your partner on a culinary tour of India at Rocksalt. The restaurant has a lovely setting, which is very important to a good date night. It can get packed, but you can easily get yourself a secluded table with the privacy that you need. Start off your meal with some Banana Blossom Cutlets, served up with some tomato chutney. The Lamb Masala Tacos are a good dish to share. Try their interesting pani puris, in meat and vegetarian versions (yes! Some interesting innovation there). And if you want some drama at the table, try the Liquid Nitrogen infused Dahi Vada Crumble. Do try the house special Black Rice Payasam.

Royal Afghan, ITC Windsor, Bengaluru

Tandoori Jhinga

The Royal Afghan may not be the first name that pops into your head when you think date night, but here is why I think it works so well. For one, its semi-outdoor ambience, particularly if you choose to dine closer to the pool is unbeatable. The food here is from a menu that has by and large remained unchanged from closer to 4 decades now. This means it’s impeccably brilliant. And there is something about wearing that apron they give you and digging in with your hands. Start with some Tandoori Jhinga, move on to the moist Murgh Malai Kebab, definitely try some of the Paneer Kurchan and Tandoori Shimla Mirch and here I would say, share a bowl of Dal Bukhara. If that is not love that has gone into its making I don’t know what it is.
