During the month of Ramzan, Hyderabad’s Biryani craze is momentarily replaced by its love for Haleem. This delectable, slow-cooked Mutton Stew starts popping up in every corner of the city. However, it can be a challenge to spot Haleem outside of Ramzan. We have put together a list of restaurants serving Hyderabadi Haleem through the year to help with your ‘off-season’ cravings. 

SodaBottleOpenerWala, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad


SodaBottleOpenerWala is an ode to the dying Irani Cafes of Mumbai. It is well known for its Parsi fares such as Dhansaak and Berry Pulao. However, the Hyderabad outlet also has a small menu devoted to the Irani Cafes of Hyderabad. This includes Irani Haleem that is served through the year. SBOW Haleem is inspired by the recipe followed in Irani households for decades -- low on the heat and grease but high on aroma and flavour.

Zaiqa - E - Hyderabad is an attempt by Chef Pradeep Khosla, who was earlier the Executive Chef of Firdaus by Taj Krishna, to showcase the culinary jewels of Hyderabad. The Haleem here is undoubtedly one of the best in the city. 


Jewel of Nizam 

Perched atop a tower custom built for the restaurant, Jewel of Nizam is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner away from the bustle of the city. The kitchen specialises in Hyderabadi food and offers Haleem in its a la carte selection.

 

Tulips, Green Park

The legendary midnight buffet at Tulips by Green Park Hotel offers a smorgasbord of Hyderabadi delights including the Haleem. The well-loved Tulips Haleem tends to be a tad spicy and is different from the one that Green Park sells during the month of Ramzan.

Chicha's, Masab Tank, Hyderabad

Outside of the month of the Ramzan, Special Mutton Haleem is a weekly affair at Chicha’s. This delicacy is available only on Friday evening.
