Tempt Your Taste Buds Like Nothing Before

There is a saying that when you are stressed, you need to have chocolate, ice cream and all things sweet, because ‘stressed’ spelt backwards is ‘desserts’. Rarely would you find a person who is not into desserts. They give that required sugar kick during your most depressed time and take care of your sugar cravings. Even though stress and desserts are synonymous, they are also present for celebration and love; no occasion or meal is complete without a dessert. In the city of mishtis (sweets), when you need that extra kick of decadence, go and try out these sinful desserts.

More often than not, coffee replaces desserts in some of our meals. And, what better than the mighty tiramisu which is a coffee flavoured Italian dessert. Try the tiramisu at Serafina and you will be bowled over by coffee love. Layers of coffee soaked sponge and mascarpone cream custard along with an envelope of cream cheese is opulent and lush. One could go to Serafina, only to try the tiramisu. It is a dessert you will never forget.

The raspberry delice at Yauatcha is outrageously fabulous. The menu describes it as raspberry dark chocolate mousse with a raspberry insert, hazelnut brownie and a raspberry ripple ice cream. The mousse is delicately shaped like a rose and powder coated with raspberry powder. It is gorgeous to look at and every spoonful takes you to heaven.

For more pink desserts, the Bodega Bomba at Bodega Cantina Y Bar is a stunning dessert. It is a razzle dazzle of textures with hand painted white chocolate sphere, strawberry foam and parfait in the inside, a pink champagne sorbet, some caviar and a tuile on top.  Complexity of flavours bound with visual delight makes this dessert stand out.

While we talk about desserts, how can we miss out on chocolate? Many words have been used to describe chocolate from being sinful to divine to indulgent. One of the most versatile ingredients in the use of desserts, this Belgian chocolate and hazelnut crunch from The Bakery of the Lalit Great Eastern, is a true depiction of the irresistibility of chocolate. Using the highest quality Belgian chocolate, this one is a mousse cake which is smooth as silk and rich as sin, with a layer of a mud cake and hazelnut crunch in the bottom.

The molten chocolate cake at Chili’s will definitely make it to this list for being truly sinful. It is a simple lava cake with vanilla ice cream. But oh boy! It is masterpiece on a plate with hot chocolate oozing out from the centre, mixing with the vanilla ice cream and the crunch of the tempered chocolate on top is always a winner.
