While you can order a pizza home from nearly every restaurant that does not necessarily mean they will be any good. In a city full of mediocre pizza we picked some of our favourite restaurants where we know you will get a delicious Pizza Pie no matter what topping you pick. These are some of the best restaurants in Mumbai for a slice of pizza.

Cin Cin - This restaurant makes you feel like you are at a Venetian cafe instead of BKC but if it is Italian food you crave then CinCin is a fabulous spot. They are more popular for their Cicchetti or bar nibbles and their incredible wine list but their Wood Fire Oven Pizza is the real treat. The Bianca Pizza with mushroom and potatoes is a lovely change from a regular margarita and their Piccante Pepperoni is another great choice.

The Wine Rack - 'Chef Sarah Todd's' menu at The Wine Rack is breath of fresh air from your usual and it extends to her pizza menu. Plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options but all rather unusual and slightly offbeat pairings - far from the standard choices. The Roasted Butternut Pumpkin Pesto with Goat's Cheese and Pine Nuts Pizza is boldly different and works well, as does the Goan pork sausages, fennel and grilled pears pizza.

Gustoso - Many moons ago this was once Metro Pizza that became a legend with their incredible meter-long pizzas. Despite the rebranding and change in menu, their pizza is still their strong suit and guests come here for it. The pizzas are round 12inch pies but you can still ask for the 1 meter, 1/2 meter and even 3/4 meter pizza. Popular picks here include the Spinaci ( Sautéed Spinach, Olives and Mushrooms ) and the Diavola ( Salami, Jalapenos and Spicy Honey ).

Botanica Cafe & Diner - Do not dismiss this restaurant because of its strict vegetarian menu. The food here is very good and the pizza is possibly the highlight on the menu. Lots to choose from but the definitive stand out is their Formaggio Rucola which is a white pizza ( no tomato sauce ) with 4 different types of cheese and rocket leaves. Many attempts at a four cheese pizza but only a few get it right. Another tasty treat is their Forager's Pizza that comes with basil pesto, mozzarella and wild mushroom ragout.

Trattoria - The all-day dining at the Taj Vivanta has always been a popular spot for folks looking to enjoy a good meal. Trattoria is nostalgic for many regulars but even today attracts a regular crowd that can not get enough. Their pizza selection is extremely popular and with very good reason. The Seafood Pizza is a delight that comes studded with shrimp, squid and other treasures from the sea. The Caramelised Onion, Goat's Cheese and Spinach is a great choice for a lighter option.
