The famous Banoffee Pie is a British dessert pie made from bananas, cream and a thick toffee sauce combined with either a buttery pastry base or one made from crumbled biscuits and butter. Credits for the pie’s invention go to Nigel Mackenzie and Ian Dowding, the owner and chef, respectively, of The Hungry Monk Restaurant in Jevington, East Sussex, England (now closed). It is said that they developed the dessert in 1971 by amending an unreliable American recipe for "Blum's Coffee Toffee Pie" with a soft toffee made by boiling an unopened can of condensed milk for several hours. This mix of flavors has enticed people worldwide. Although there are many bakeries in the city that serve Banoffee Pie, if you want to sample the most exquisite renditions of this classic dessert in Delhi NCR then consider the following list your Holy Grail!
