If you have been following The Piano Man Jazz Club’s journey in Delhi’s burgeoning hospitality space, you will be aware that the outfit draws in patrons primarily for its live music. The label has carved out a niche among the hip and young music aficionados with its edgy performances and artists who are both eclectic and diverse. Clearly, food plays second fiddle in this vibrant musicscape. In the Appetiser section, there is an interesting entry by the name of steamed 'Bok Choy Cups', where the vegetable is stuffed with spicy 'Kra Pow' filling and topped with piquant 'Peanut Sauce'. Your food salvation can come by way of The Oinker, that does not smother each slice with an overdose of cheese as some pizzerias tend to do. The flare of red chilli flakes elevates the generously-strewn discs of pepperoni, bacon as well as other avatars of pork, while the light base stays clear of being chewy. What gives the roots-and-shoots brigade a leg up in the restaurant is the menu’s substantial vegetarian entries, which speak volumes about esoteric vegetables and condiments. But despair not if you are true-blue carnivore for the restaurant has plenty to choose from. A scene stealer is the 'Thai Pork Rice Bowl' in the Mains Meats section which comes with caramelised pork tumbled with wilted spinach and a heap of fragrant 'Lemon Rice'.
