Public Affair is another Khan Market hit from stables of the Townhouse team. Eccentrically retro with dimly-lit candlestand bulbs on wooden beams, exposed plaster, Latin deep house music and leather-clad menus. The restaurant feels expansive with smartly spaced out covers. Public Affair’s menu spans continents, with a distinctive South American flair and some Townhouse touches. I skipped the backroom Teppanyaki and dived straight into a plate of 'Gambas al Ajillo', loving the bouncy texture of its shrimps but wishing for more pronounced garlic and herbal flavour in the olive oil. My three-tiered Kebob Platter featured slightly dry but well seasoned 'Chicken Tikkas', gorgeously crisp-skinned 'Potato Wedges', moist 'Fish Tikkas' with a minty 'Yogurt Dip', hefty 'Lamb Kebobs' put together from roughly minced lamb and a zesty portion of Quinoa. It could have done with fluffier Pita though and another dash of seasoning in the creamy Hummus. My meal ended on a bit of a low with a 'Chalky Maraschino Cherry Cheesecake' - alone maraschino cherry on top and some macerated ones at the bottom, gratuitous silver dragees, a mushy centre and no biscuit base for contrast.

Chef has outdone himself by curating a selection of dishes adapting heavily from Asian & European cuisines. Get yourself a glass of wine before digging through this delectable menu. Pair that Chardonnay with, Persian chelo kebab, soft shell crab, yellowtail carpaccio, chefs special five seeds flatbread, truffle edamame, Mexican salad bowl, mixed vegetables okonomiyaki, calamari tempura and spicy salmon ceviche. Platters are a popular choice to share amongst friends. Second course will impress you with choices like, duo of sliders, tenderloin teppanyaki, homemade ravioli, P.A.s phad Thai noodles, black cod with miso, enchiladas, massaman curry and stuffed artichoke hearts.
