  • All Jaypee restaurants try to ensure that there is live music at all times. You may or may not like eating to the sound of filmi ghazals
  • The Gaurs eat no garlic. So, if you want simple food with a minimum of stimulating spices, then ask the chefs. They will know what you are talking about
  • This is the only Indian restaurant I know that pays as much attention to the dahi section (raitas, etc.) as it does to the kababs

The Indian restaurant brand of the Jaypee group. Both Delhi outlets, at the Vasant Continental and the Siddharth, bear the twin imprints of Nita Nagraj, the group’s highly regarded corporate chef, and the vegetarian Gaur family who own the hotels. Nagraj’s many years as one of the Taj Group’s top chefs ensure that the non-vegetarian food is top-notch while the Gaurs have parted with their old family recipes for pickles and vegetarian dishes. The Punjabi-style food at the Siddharth is better but the Vasant Continental outlet is more sophisticated.

The restaurant is run under the guidance of the group’s corporate chef Neeta Nagraj. She has used her experience with Taj to improve the non-veg section of the menu. Hotel is owned by food loving and vegetarians Gaur family so you will find exceptional range of pickels etc on the menu. Paatra outshines every other North Indian serving restaurant in the city with exceptional flavours. Commence your meal with lip-smacking appetizers, aatishi murg, patialashahi seekh, surkh paneer, murg tikka angara, bhunee chaat, amritsari machchi tikka, sarsonwaala jhinga, gobhi naal broccoli, gosht chapli kebab, chandini tikki and Makai methi ke kebab. The amount of attention put in the food matches the effort put in the presentation. Each plate seems pretty and eye catching. The mains part of the menu showcases shadras subziyan, rarrah gosht pudina, lehsooni palak, paneer ke paanse, nalli roganjosh, paneer kundan, dhaba murg, palak badaami kofta and Balti gosht.
