Food is not an afterthought at Open House Cafe, although it takes its music seriously. The deejay can be seen spinning the turntable to a feverish crowd on most evenings, contributing to the electric ambience of the restaurant. The service is prompt while the proprietors never let the food take a backseat. Although the menu exhibits global influences, there are standout dishes that call for repeat orders. For instance, a regular 'Prawn Sui Mai' dish is taken to the next level with the use of fresh crustaceans, adding to the filling’s juicy consistency. Flavours are also coaxed out beautifully from a dish of 'Lamb Panang Curry', where sliced lamb is cooked with Thai herbs and comes loaded with crushed peanuts. Do not miss the seafood 'Basil Fried Rice', where grains of rice seems to have soaked up flavours of the sea for hours.
