Nestled inside the leafy bylanes of Sunder Nagar Market, Sazerac has both location and food on its side. From windows of the dining and bar area of the restaurant, the quaint neighbourhood comes alive with its antique shops and buzzing snack outlets. The all-American menu is a winner all the way, but the portion sizes could do with some generosity. Even the main course items came in quantities that can be devoured in a few bites. Small quibbles aside, the quality and execution of the dishes are top notch. Most importantly, Sazerac is all about leisurely dining where slow-cooked food needs to be punctuated with finely crafted cocktails. There is 'Beer Fermented Monterey Jack Toast' in the starters section to whet your appetite, while the cow’s milk cheese marks a flavourful beginning to your meal. The 'Confit Leg of Duck, with Beet and Truffled Mash', is another wondrous creation, marrying A-list ingredients with sophisticated cooking techniques. The whole duck leg is crisped to golden perfection, while the platter comes with a hillock of creamy potato mash as well as a jug of jus. Equally sensual is the 'Burrata Ravioli in Rocket Pesto and Fresh Tomato', which are pockets of happiness floating on a green sea.
