There are places that might pack in a small number of covers but they win you over with their ambience, courteous staff and of course the food. Urban Thikana, more popularly known as UT (a take on Chandigarh being a Union Territory) has taken the right steps to make a good first impression. The cutesy eatery located on Zirakpur’s buzzing VIP Road offers the growing neighbourhood the option to savour a sumptuous meal in a fun space. It also works well for private dos. Step inside are you are bound to notice the art on the walls and the quotes as well. The walls are definitely a conversation starter and a popular choice for photo-ops. The restaurant is vibrant and offers comfortable seating. There is also a special split level seating and ideal for those looking for a cosy corner. The menu is not really extensive but it offers the usual favourites like ‘Beetroot and Onion Salad’, ‘Chicken Tikka Caesar Salad’, ‘Dahi ke Kebab’, ‘Malai Soya Chaap’, ‘Tulsi Paneer Tikka’, ‘Jack Daniels Chicken Tikka’, ‘Mutton Seekh Kebab’ and the likes. We liked the presentation of the meals using quirky props. The main course offers a line-up of Indian fare, mostly. For the main course, the ‘Rahra Tawa Murgh’ was good and paired well with their signature ‘Chur Chur Naan’. So if you are looking for dining options in Zirakpur that are pocket-friendly with no compromise on taste or ambience, Urban Thikana scores well. The menu is concise but offers popular favourites.
