When it comes to favourite cuisines in the city, Oriental and Italian remain the top contenders after north Indian fare, of course. So it comes as little surprise that the James Hotel chose to include a speciality Oriental restaurant. Hees is housed on the lobby level and is a rather quiet fine diner. The music is chosen with the theme and the ambience is pleasing. It has a substantial number of covers and dining in a larger group is easy. The menu is robust and there is a lot of emphasis on appetisers. The place offers many seafood options. If you are unsure where to start then go for the mixed platters that bring in a mixed selection of starters. The 'Barbeque Platter' offers a choice of seafood/poultry/meat/vegetables with Chinese spices and greens. The dim sums are well done too. The highlight of our meal was the ‘Chimney Soup’ that arrives piping hot on the table in a unique chimney pot. The portion is good for two and is perfect to start your meal with. The main course is equally robust with good options for vegetarians as well. The service is efficient but not good with recommendations. The portion size and pricing is reasonable.
