Chandigarh now boasts of a sizeable number of stand-alone restaurants as well as those housed in hotels. Sector 43 has many hotels and therefore a lot many dining options. Glaze is Hotel Amara’s all-day dining restaurant. If you are looking to have a quiet time over dinner, then Glaze is a good option. Lunches can get quite busy as it’s a popular place for kitty parties. The restaurant has a warm vibe to it and the menu offers Indian, Chinese and some Continental dishes. You will find the usual line-up of soups, starters, main course and desserts. ‘Hot and Sour Soup’, ‘Manchow Soup’, ‘Chicken Shorba’, ‘Cream of Vegetable Soup’ lead the way in the soups section. There’s a predictable array of salads including the popular aloo-chana chaat. If you are looking to stick to popular choices, then go for the Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian platter. There are a sizeable number of dishes in the Asian cuisine section as well. ‘Spiced Honey Wings’ and ‘Drums of Heaven’ remain all-time favourites. We started our meal with a vegetarian clear soup and it was light on the palate. The chef recommended the seasonal grilled fish with lemon butter and it was really well made. Looking to keep it light, we paired it with sautéed veggies and relished the meal. There are many curry options as well for those looking to try Indian fare. The service was prompt and we will make a revisit to try more of their fare.
