The Lalit Chandigarh enjoys an enviable location and architecture that makes a befitting tribute to Le Corbusier, who designed the city. This aspect is most noticeable in 24/7 All Day Dining, the hotel’s restaurant which has an open style plan. Unlike its unimaginative name, the restaurant will take your breath away with its impressive space – a dramatic high ceiling, tall pillars, a view of the outdoors and a lot of natural light pouring in. There are interactive cooking counters too and a huge dessert section located in the heart of the place. Given the space and number of covers, finding a table here even on the busiest of days is relatively easy. The menu offers buffet options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Apart from this, the menu packs in salads, appetizers, soups, a selection of international main course and desserts. There is a small menu for kids as well. If you are looking for a quick bite, you can easily skip the 'Bombay-style Bhelpuri Salad'. The version we had was limp and lacked zest. Order a la carte only if you have missed the buffet timings. The 'Murg Dum Biryani' is a good pick in that case. The kinds of pasta and pizzas also come recommended. The 'Tiramisu' is avoidable too – ours was frozen to the core. Also, on the flip side, the service can get excruciatingly slow if you are ordering from the menu during buffet hours. The highlight of the all-day diner is definitely the buffet. It is a good spread of dishes and hopscotches across cuisines. The restaurant also has a popular alfresco dining area that is perfect for good weather days or late evenings.
