Toscano is perhaps the first name to come to mind when we talk of a good Italian restaurant. Here is a place with its signature green and brown décor, that never fails to please. Make no mistake, the restaurant is a pricey one, but it is definitely value for money. My favourite starter here is the 'Beef Carpaccio' which is encrusted with pesto and served with 'Pommery Mustard' and 'Rocket Pesto' on the side. The 'Smoked Salmon Involtini' is another dish I really like – it makes for a heavy starter, with smoked salmon, a cucumber roulade and a soft boiled egg over an apple and rocket salad. In the pizza department, the 'Quattro Formaggi' is great, as is the 'Prosciutto e Funghi'. The 'Ravioli di Spinaci with Ricotta' is a great pick, as is the 'Baked Brie with Red Pumpkin' and 'Spinach Mash and Baked Brie Cheese'. The 'Spaghetti Bolognese' is my all-time favourite, as clichéd as that may sound. The 'Penne Arrabiatta' is great for the vegetarians. For your main course, do try the 'Lava Stone Grilled BBQ Indian Lamb' chopped that is served with whipped polenta. Among the dessert, the 'Chocolate Kahlua Mousse', the 'Warm Apple Crumble and the Affogata al Caffe' is a must for coffee lovers. Toscano’s food is best paired with all the wines that they have on offer. Ask for a bottle of your choice or leave it to your server to get you.
